Inside David Tepper's strategy for putting Bank of America Stadium in play

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A year ago this week, David Tepper met the media for the first time as owner of the Carolina Panthers. During that introductory press conference, he offered thoughts on how the NFL franchise would change and how it might stay the same.

The organization is starting to deliver on that promise. In recent days, Panthers executives have disclosed a first-of-its-kind five-year agreement to host International Champions Cup soccer matches through 2024 while also ramping up a campaign to bring a Major League Soccer team to Charlotte.

Tepper mentioned the team’s privately owned Bank of America Stadium and its use beyond football as something that would look much different in future years.
