Interstate 77 reopens after major crash causes delays

CHARLOTTE — Interstate 77 is back open Tuesday afternoon after a multiple-car crash closed the road around 8:30 a.m.

Video from the NCDOT showed four vehicles and emergency responders blocking all southbound general-purpose lanes south of Interstate 85.

Traffic had to get by on the shoulder, which caused massive delays heading toward Uptown.

MEDIC said one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
