IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A 40-year-old Harmony man was arrested on Sept. 11 and charged with two felony counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor following an investigation in Iredell County.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office opened the case at the end of July after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about suspected child sexual abuse material.
Jason Matthew Frank was quickly identified as the suspect.
Detectives interviewed Frank and obtained search warrants for his social media accounts and electronic devices. There, they found files that showed Frank possessed and distributed child sexual abuse material online.
During the investigation, detectives also discovered that Frank is currently on federal probation after a previous New York conviction for attempted production of child pornography.
Following the arrest, Frank was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center, where he is currently being held under a $200,000 secured bond.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said it’s possible that more charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
