IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Every school served by an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer now has a new trauma kit designed to provide life-saving medical care in an emergency.
Sheriff Darren Campbell presented the Mobilize Comprehensive Trauma Kits alongside Iredell-Statesville Schools Superintendent Dr. Jeff James.
The kits include supplies to treat severe bleeding, airway emergencies, fractures, choking, seizures, allergic reactions, burns and other critical injuries.

Each SRO is trained in emergency medical response and will have immediate access to the kits. They can also be used by school staff, who can follow step-by-step instructions to help people provide care before EMS arrives.
The kits were purchased with federal Equitable Sharing funds, which come from assets seized from people involved in illegal activity. The sheriff’s office says no local taxpayer money was used.
Campbell said the kits are another way the sheriff’s office is preparing for emergencies beyond criminal incidents, including medical emergencies and accidents.
