SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A journalist in South Carolina says he’s received multiple letters from a convicted serial killer who may be responsible for at least seven deaths.
Daniel Gross, a reporter for the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, said he didn’t know what to expect when he wrote to Todd Kohlhepp, who is serving life in prison.
Gross said he’s received four letters from Kohlhepp to date, and in them, Kohlhepp opens up about life behind bars.
Kohlhepp pleaded guilty in May to seven murders that took place over more than a decade. His arrest came after deputies said they discovered Kayla Brown alive on his property, where she was chained up for two months in a shipping container.

"When I got that first letter, it was a surreal moment, seeing that hand-written note from a serial killer," Gross said.
Earlier this week, The Spartanburg Herald-Journal reported that Kohlhepp said there were more victims that have yet to be discovered.
