CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A judge has denied an appeal by the adoptive father of missing Rowan County teenager Erica Parsons.
Sandy Parsons is serving an eight-year prison term after he was convicted of fraud. He and his wife, Casey Parsons, were convicted of collecting benefits for Erica Parsons after she disappeared.

A judge dismissed an appeal by Casey Parsons in December. She is serving 10 years in prison.
Erica Parsons hasn’t been seen since 2011. She was 13 at the time of her disappearance.
