CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A lane of Interstate 85 south in Charlotte will be closed through June starting on Thursday, the N.C. Department of Transportation said.
The right lane will be closed at mile marker 47, south of the I-485 interchange, at 9 p.m. Thursday. Crews will begin work on a ramp that will tie in from the I-485 inner loop to I-85 south.
The NCDOT said crews will set a barrier wall Thursday night to remove existing concrete and restripe the roadway. That work should be finished by 6 a.m. Friday.
The shift will leave two travel lanes open to drivers.
