CHARLOTTE — A large number of police officers were spotted at a south Charlotte apartment complex Wednesday morning, hours after a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officer was shot by a suspect.
Channel 9 reporters Hunter Sáenz and Hannah Goetz were at the scene near Old Pineville Road and East Arrowood Road. It started just after 10 a.m., and multiple armed police officers were seen surrounding one apartment building.

Officers were heard giving commands to a person inside one of the buildings off of Kings Ridge Drive.
Two sources told Channel 9 that officers at this police scene were working to arrest the suspect who is wanted for shooting a police officer early Wednesday morning.
Channel 9’s Hannah Goetz heard a flash bang grenade used just before noon as officers worked to take the suspect into custody.
