CHARLOTTE — Tuesday is the last day North Carolinians can receive $100 by rolling up their sleeves and getting their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has been offering $100 gift cards for most of August.

From Aug. 4 through Aug. 31, the $100 Summer Cards were available to anyone 18 and older who gets their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at a participating site -- while supplies last.
Since upping the gift card amount from $25 to $100, the state said providers saw a 98% increase in the number of people who signed up to get their first shot.
It’s important to note, however, that the increase coincided with the emergence of the delta variant.

According to the NCDHHS, 65% of eligible North Carolinians are partially vaccinated and 60% are fully vaccinated.
