CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte man, who was the leader of a multi-state auto theft ring, has been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison.

Hosea Hampton helped steal more than 80 luxury vehicles, prosecutors said.
They were worth nearly $6 million from dealerships across 15 states.
Four co-defendants have also been sentenced.
