WASHINGTON — A local men’s lacrosse team was honored at the White House for their championship win.
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden invited the Lenoir-Rhyne University team to visit the White House on Monday for College Athlete Day.

The NCAA Division II team was one of several teams and programs from all three divisions on the South Lawn Monday.
The Bears are celebrating a national championship for just the second time in more than 100 years. No other five-seed had won the title, until now.
Lenoir-Rhyne won against Mercyhurst on May 28 for the championship win.
They finished the season with a program-record 18 wins.
