LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A Lincoln County man faces charges in a sexual assault that allegedly occurred two years ago.
Jeremiah Lee Mitchell, 37, was charged with felony statutory rape of a 13-, 14- or 15-year-old and indecent liberties with a minor.
Authorities said Mitchell inappropriately touched a young girl that he knew when she was 15 years old.
Mitchell turned himself in at the Lincoln County Magistrate's Office and was released on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
