ROCK HILL, S.C. — Someone has been calling around asking for money for the Northwestern High School athletics program, and they're even using the names of people at the school.
The problem is, the organization called Over the Top Advertising is not contracted to do any fundraiser for the school or its sports teams.
Helena Miller is a Northwestern parent, booster club member and member of the school board.
"Honestly, it infuriates me," she said.

Miller said anything that hurts students, hurts everyone. She said boosters work to build trust with the community and local businesses to support the schools, and incidents like this damage those efforts.
"I've been in that position where I'm the one going out soliciting donations, trying to do the best for my children and their teammates, and it's very easy to ruin these relationships that parents are trying so hard to build," she said.
Boosters for Northwestern High, known as the Trojan Club, warned parents on Facebook Wednesday night about the phone calls.
Channel 9 investigated and couldn’t find any organization named Over the Top Advertising, and there was no record of such a business with the Better Business Bureau, either.
Todd Brinkley is a former president of the school's booster club.
He said people who got the phone calls contacted them quickly.
"Once we were made aware of this, we really tried to go through social media and put out a warning. This is just frustrating," Brinkley said.

This is not the first time this has been an issue for local high schools.
There was an alert just put out recently in Cleveland County as well when someone was calling around trying to sell ads on behalf of a school in Shelby.
That, too, was not sanctioned by any school there. The person or business behind those calls was not named.
