CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office joined the list of agencies with an online portal detailing how they use license plate readers.
The sheriff’s office and police departments in Hickory and Long View all launched portals in the last two weeks.
That makes at least 17 agencies in our area that have one.
The portals tell people how many cameras a department has, and how many cars were photographed in a 30-day period.
