Lowes Foods to close 2 area locations

GASTONIA, N.C. — Lowes Foods is closing four of its stores, including two in our area.

The store on East Marion Street in Shelby and the store on Cox Road in Gastonia are closing.

The company said those stores are underperforming and will shut down on Sept 19.

Employees will be offered positions at other Lowes Foods locations.
