CHARLOTTE — A hot summer for blockbuster home sales across the Charlotte market ended in August on a more modest note.
A lakefront home in Cornelius that sold for just shy of $5 million registered as Mecklenburg County’s most expensive home sale last month. The 6,800-square-foot property on Lake Norman sits on nearly an acre, with outdoor features such as a pool and hot tub, fire pit, balcony, porch space and a private dock. It has six bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms.
Built in 2000, the home’s sale price totaled $4.925 million. That’s down from its initial asking price of $5.4 million in early June. The sale closed about two-and-a-half months after the listing hit the market.
