CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officers arrested one man accused in an armed robbery of a northwest Charlotte bank and are still searching for two others, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Three people robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Couloak Drive just before 6 p.m. Friday, using at least one firearm, police said.

The bank was closed and no customers were inside. No one was injured during the robbery.

The three people fled, so officers set up a perimeter and used a K-9 unit and the CMPD helicopter to find them.

The K-9 unit tracked down Anthony Caldwell, 47. MEDIC treated him for a minor bite to his arm, and officers took him to police headquarters for questioning.

Officers then took him to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
