BOONE, N.C. — A Boone man was charged in connection with a crash that killed an Appalachian State University student.
Jonathan Reeder, 21, was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle for the crash that happened in January.
Troopers said Reeder was speeding, crossed the center line and hit another car head on.
Jacob Whitaker was pinned inside the car and later died.
