HICKORY, N.C. — A possible road rage incident led to one man shot at about 10 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Rite Aid on Highway 127 in Hickory, according to a news release from the Hickory Police Department.
The shooter is still on the loose, police said.
The victim, Kambiz Saleh Tehrani, 39, of Hickory, followed a vehicle and repeatedly flashed his headlights and sounded his horn at the other driver, attempting to get the vehicle to stop.
The vehicle eventually pulled into the parking lot of Rite Aid, and Tehrani followed the vehicle into the same parking and stopped, police said.
Tehrani got out of his vehicle and approached the vehicle when a black male got out of the passenger side, and an altercation began.
Tehrani was then shot and later taken to Frye Regional Medical Center and then to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
The business was closed at the time of the shooting.
