LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A 42-year-old man died following a crash between a motorcycle and an Amazon delivery van on Forney Hill Road in Lincoln County on Sunday.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol identified the the man as Christopher Ryan Preston.
Troopers say Preston was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling on Forney Hill Road when it struck a gray Amazon delivery van. The driver of the van, 24-year-old Nazir Zakari Karimou of Charlotte, was attempting a left turn from Maple Brook Drive when the crash happened.
Preston died at the scene. Karimou was treated on scene for minor injuries.
Troopers determined speed was a contributing factor in the crash. Investigators confirmed no charges will be filed.
