Man killed in Monday morning shooting identified

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man who was shot and killed Monday has been identified as Issac Ray Carelock, 34, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police were called to the home on Morning Drive, off West Boulevard, just after 4 a.m. Monday, where they found the man dead on the front porch.

Police said Carelock was shot and killed as he apparently tried to force his way into his estranged girlfriend’s home.

The shooter has been identified and interviewed in this case.  The case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges are to be filed.
