CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Searchers retrieved the body of a drowning victim out of the Broad River in South Carolina Thursday afternoon.
Todd Moore, 25, was swimming with a group of people Wednesday just before 4 p.m. in an area known as the Sand Bar near the border of Chester and Union counties.
Officials said he went under the water and never resurfaced.
A search for Moore was called off Wednesday due to severe storms.
Members with the dive teams with the Sheriff's Department, Department of Natural Resources and forest service workers have resumed the search Thursday at 8 a.m.
Authorities said the drowning appears to be accidental.
