CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Concord man was found guilty Monday of sexually assaulting a University of North Carolina-Charlotte student in her dorm room in January 2014.
The judge sentenced Damien Pruitt, who was 21 at the time of the assault, to six years in prison and ordered him to register as a sex offender.
The victim’s roommate invited Pruitt into a dorm room that night, and police said he later climbed into a roommate’s bed and assaulted the woman.
Pruitt was not a student at UNCC, police said.
