HARRISBURG, N.C. — Fire officials said a man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Harrisburg overnight.
Officials said the collision happened around 2:30 a.m. on Roberta Road near the Rocky River Bridge, and that the driver did not stop.
A portion of Roberta Road was closed for about 45 minutes as investigators collected evidence, but has since reopened.

Police have not released a description of the suspect vehicle.
