CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police captured the suspect connected to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex parking lot in east Charlotte.
Dantonio Hamilton was shot and killed around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Lanecrest drive.
When police arrived at the Hamptons Commons apartments, Hamilton was in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to the stomach.
An ambulance crew pronounced him dead on the scene.
Police said this is not the first time they have been to the complex for criminal activity.
"We have had some issues at the apartment complex, but never at this level," said T.T. Garrett.
CMPD Homicide Unit have charged Arnold Jerard Thomas, 19, with the murder of Hamilton.
He was arrested in South Carolina on Monday.
