HICKORY, N.C. — Police have identified the 19-year-old man who was shot Thursday evening in the Ridgeville community in Hickory, about a block from the police department, officials said.
Police said they responded to the shooting just after 7 p.m. on Third Street Southwest and found Tykevious Thomas with gunshot wounds in the middle of the street.
Officers said they also found several shell casings in the roadway.
Thomas was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
Investigators said no arrests have been made.
