Man tried to bring loaded gun onto Charlotte plane, TSA says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Florida man was arrested Monday after he tried to bring a loaded gun onto a plane at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

TSA officers said they stopped Anthony Breeze in the Checkpoint B precheck lane with a loaded .380-caliber handgun.

TSA officers detected the gun and ammunition in his carry-on bag as it passed through the X-ray machine.

The TSA contacted Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and Breeze was questioned before he was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm on airport property.

TSA officers have seized 24 firearms at checkpoints at Charlotte’s airport in 2017. The TSA found 54 firearms in 2016.
