ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Police are investigating after they said a man was shot and killed late Wednesday night in Albemarle.
The police chief told Channel 9 that Cordarus Maurice Leake, 28, was shot around 10 p.m. on Inger Street and then drove roughly a half mile before crashing at the Holiday Inn Express on Leonard Avenue.
Leake was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to officials.
Investigators told Channel 9 they're not sure what led up to the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
