BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Burke County sheriff's deputies are on the hunt for a driver who they said was involved in a high-speed chase south of Morganton.
Charles Hughes led them on a chase for several miles Thursday night before he jumped from the car near his home, officials said.

Hughes was driving with a revoked license, and he was wanted in connection with a credit card theft.
