LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies said a man wearing latex gloves and a surgical mask used a machete to rob a gas station early Wednesday morning in Lincoln County.
The man walked into the Quick Trip Convenience Store on North Carolina 73 Highway around 2:15 a.m. armed with a black machete, according to officials.

The clerk told officers the robber was wearing a gray hoodie, gray tennis shoes, gray pants with a black hockey mask. He was also wearing latex gloves and a surgical mask under the hockey mask.
According to deputies, the man demanded money, walked behind the counter, grabbed some cash out of two registers and ran out the back of the store.

The clerk was the only one in the store at the time and was not hurt.
