CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The man accused of stealing an ambulance before crashing it into cars in an east Charlotte parking lot is now behind bars.

Jacquez Fields is the man police said caused so much damage on April 1 inside Monarch Mental Health on Executive Center Drive before running outside, jumping on several cars and then hopping into an ambulance while paramedics were in the back with a patient.

Bystanders recorded the shocking video and shared it with Channel 9.
