Matthews nonprofit finds way to raise money after event was canceled

MATTHEWS, N.C. — There are about 2,000 nonprofit organizations in North Carolina that are struggling to keep up and help families during the pandemic.

COVID-19 has forced many organizations to cancel fundraising events.

In the video at the top of this webpage, organizers at the nonprofit daycare tell Channel 9 how they are getting creative to raise money.

C.O.S. Kids in Matthews hosts its annual Backyard Blues fundraiser for single parents, but it had to cancel this year’s event.
