CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Both candidates for North Carolina governor will be in Charlotte Monday for the final push before Election Day.
Their attacks are still centering around the House Bill Two controversy, and while Roy Cooper is doubling down on his message that it's bad for business, Governor Pat McCrory said the left has created the transgender bathroom issue.

McCrory made the statement Sunday night on FOX News after he was asked why the race is so close after he won in 2012 by a wide margin.
Cooper took aim at McCrory during a concert Sunday night with rocker Bon Jovi. He will be making another campaign stop in Charlotte at 10 a.m. with vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine.

McCrory will also be campaigning in Charlotte Monday, at a breakfast at 7 a.m.
When addressing HB2 on national television Sunday, the governor pointed to the role that outside money is playing in the race.
“I’ve probably been outspent nearly 2-to-1, so the negative ads are absolutely incredible,” he said.
“When Governor McCrory…with a stroke of his pen signs House Bill Two, then writes discrimination into our laws, it is wrong,” said Cooper.
Polls show a statistical dead heat between the two men.
