CHARLOTTE — A Mecklenburg County commissioner says she needs a heart transplant.
At-large Commissioner Yvette Townsend Ingram shared on Facebook Thursday that she had open-heart surgery two weeks ago.
She says heart disease runs in her family, and she now needs a transplant.
She says she was in the hospital from April 22 until Wednesday and says, “She is alive, and she feels good.”
