CHARLOTTE — Mecklenburg International Fashion Week in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month will take place on Saturday.

The event was held at the Carolina Esports Hub in southwest Charlotte and featured Miss North Carolina, along with three therapists who encouraged anyone struggling to seek help for their mental health.

CEO of Mecklenburg International Fashion Week, Delores Sobowale, told Channel 9 that Saturday’s event was used to bring people together and remove the stigma around getting help.

“We want you to know that you are not alone, and you don’t have to be afraid; it’s okay to go see a therapist because that could save your life,” Sobowale said.
