CHARLOTTE — The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation has announced pool summer hours for its outdoor pools and Ramsey Creek Beach this memorial day weekend.

The pools will open on weekends starting this weekend and weekday openings will be added the week of June 13.

The department said it plans to operate the pools the following hours:

Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Cordelia Swimming Pool: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Ramsey Creek Beach: Wednesday to Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Channel 9 stopped by the Cordelia Swimming Pool on Saturday and talked to the head lifeguard as the pool opened for the season.

Stanley St. Vilus said it is nice to see the pool come back to life.

“It shows that we’re coming back to regular life, sort of in a kind of way. So, it’s nice to see everyone back out here at capacity. I think we’re back at 400. It’s kind of nice to see the regular lifestyle again,” said Vilus.

CATS will operate shuttles to Ramey Creek Beach from the Cornelius Park and Ride on Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, and Labor Day weekend.

Admission is $2 per person for Cordelia and Double Oaks outdoor pools. A park entry free is required for Ramsey Creek Park from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
