CHARLOTTE — Mecklenburg County set a 20 mph speed limit on all greenways Thursday.
Leaders say it’s to keep the areas safe for everyone, whether you’re walking, biking or roller skating.

The county is urging everyone who uses the greenway system to remember some key safety tips, including using extra caution in curves and busy areas, avoiding standing still on the trail and remaining alert by using one earphone instead of two.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation also reminds residents to keep pets on a short leash while on the greenway.
