CHARLOTTE — A man was shot and killed Thursday evening in an east Charlotte shopping center parking lot.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 3100 block of Milton Road.

According to police, the victim was shot several times by what investigators believe was one other person.
Police said an altercation began a few hundred yards from the Compare Foods parking lot before shots were fired. The man was found dead when they arrived.
Investigators placed several evidence markers throughout the parking lot as they worked to piece together what happened.
A camera tower near the shooting scene may also provide evidence, police said.
CMPD Major Stephen Fischbach is asking people in the community to come forward with any information that could help investigators identify the person responsible.
