MINT HILL, N.C. — A Mint Hill man was accused of making millions of dollars peddling fake sports apparel between 2016 and 2021, according to the U.S. District Attorney.
Antonio Errivares Burgos got the bogus sports clothing and accessories from China that had the marks of MLS, Premiere League Soccer and other professional soccer leagues, as well as brands, such as Nike and Adidas.

Burgos’ company, Ange Supplies, distributed the clothing and items to retailers across the Southeast, the U.S. Attorney said.
Burgos had a heat press and thousands of press-on numbers and letters he used to apply trademarked names and numbers to the plain items to make them appear authentic.
Authorities seized the items from shipments that came from China to an address with Burgos’ name in August 2021, the U.S. Attorney said.
