MINT HILL, N.C. — Mint Hill police have issued a warning about a man who they said has been harassing motorists by following and filming drivers and even blocking the roadway.

Police said social media posts say the man, who police identified as 46-year-old Brian Robinson, is possibly pointing weapons at drivers in the Thompson Road area.

His behavior, especially toward women, has begun to circulate on Facebook. It prompted one woman, who didn't want to be identified, to send out a warning.

"So I reposted it and then realized how bad and how many things had been going on. Pretty scary," the woman said.

Gene Deese lives on Thompson Road, just a few houses down from where Robinson lives, and he said last week he saw Robinson in the road taking pictures.

"He walked out in the middle of the road, down the road and started taking pictures of my truck riding by," Deese said. "When I got past him, he turned around and took pictures from the back."

Police said that Robinson has also been known to follow Mint Hill police officers and other first responders while they are on duty.

Robinson has been charged in the past for felony theft of a dog, possession of marijuana, stalking, felony speeding to elude and assault by pointing a gun, police said. He also has a charge pending for assault with a deadly weapon from an incident in February 2016.

Police said they're investigating what neighbors have told them and are consulting with prosecutors, but no charges have been filed against Robinson.

Police ask anyone who may come in contact with Robinson to call 911 or drive to a nearby police station.
