LAKE NORMAN — The body of a missing kayaker was found on Lake Norman late Sunday night, officials say.
Wildlife officers got a call about an overturned kayak and a missing man on Lake Norman near Penicillin Point in Troutman around 7:30 p.m.

Just before 11 p.m., rescuers found the 32-year-old man in 44-feet of water, not far from where his kayak flipped.
They have not identified him, but authorities said he’s from the Charlotte area. Wildlife officials said he was not wearing a lifejacket at the time.
