Missing Georgia 17-year-old could be in Charlotte, her family says

CHARLOTTE — Police in Georgia are asking for help finding a 17-year-old who could be in Charlotte.

Talyn Kernea was last seen on Tuesday in the city of Chickamauga, Georgia, just south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Police asked anyone with information about where she might be to call the Chickamauga Police Department at 706-375-3177, or call 911.

According to her family, Kernea has autism and other cognitive disabilities. Her mother said someone paid for a bus ticket for Talyn from Georgia to Charlotte. However, the family and Talyn do not know anyone from North Carolina.

Kernea is 5 feet, 7 inches and weighs 156 pounds, police said. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.
