CHARLOTTE — For some families, the challenges this school year are far greater than internet connections.

Students with special needs require more personalized teaching than they can get virtually.

“Right now, he’s not learning anything,” mother Vanessa Infanzon said. “He’s sitting in front of that chrome book yelling and screaming. In one video, he’s banging his legs really loudly.”

In the video at the top of this webpage, Infanzon says she met with a team of educators in a special meeting to create a new plan for her son, Ben.
