MONROE, N.C. — The Monroe Police Department is urging neighbors to lock their doors and keep an eye out for suspicious activity after a few recent break-in incidents.
The police department shared on its Facebook that a burglary suspect was caught on camera in a home on Wind Chime Court on Friday. Officers arrived but the burglar ran away from the home, police said.
Just before that incident, police issued a warning about someone trying to break into a car. That was caught on an outdoor surveillance video. MPD said that the department got “multiple reports of people’s cars being rummaged through” during the night last week.
Police said to remove your valuable items from your car and make sure it’s locked.
If you have information on either suspect, you’re encouraged to call MPD at 704-282-4700.
