MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A Mooresville man is facing charges after he's accused of shooting his neighbor's two dogs, killing one of them.
Fred Thomas Wright, 55, is charged with two counts of felony cruelty to animals.
Deputies said they arrived at Tammy Drive in Mooresville in reference to two dogs being shot on Dec. 30.
A neighbor told them her dog had been shot and was severely injured.
According to officials, Wright claimed the dogs killed one of his roosters.

Deputies went to the residence and located a deceased dog, which had been shot, on Wright's property. They did not locate a rooster or any signs of a rooster being killed.
Police said Wright was arrested at the scene and transported to Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with two felony counts of cruelty to animals.
