More financial assistance on the way to give boost to North Carolina film industry

NORTH CAROLINA — More financial assistance is on the way to give a boost to the film industry in North Carolina following months of uncertainty.

State lawmakers promised an additional $31 million in funding for projects in Hanover County.

The money will come in the form of a tax rebate, and will be made available by the end of next year.

North Carolina film crewmembers are cautiously optimistic.

“I’ve seen many ups and downs of this industry and I’m hoping we’re on a uphill swing at this point,” said Sean Yaple. “We need a long term solution, and we need stability.”
