Mountain communities deal with slick roads, school cancellations

WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — Students in the mountains enjoyed another day off from school on Wednesday because of all the snow and ice.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation had dozens of trucks clearing the roads in Avery and Watauga counties Wednesday morning.
