CARY, N.C. — A man suspected of planning a terror attack in Wake County might have hinted at his plans on social media, authorities said.

Police said Garret Grimsley used the app Whisper to warn people not to go to Cary last weekend.

He also complained about prejudice from non-Muslims, police said.

Officials tracked him down and said they found an AK-47 and 340 rounds of ammunition in his home.

Grimsely will face a judge Friday in Raleigh.

If he is found guilty, he could be sentenced to five years in prison.
