ROLESVILLE, N.C. — A North Carolina school resource officer who came under fire after a video appeared to show him slamming a female student to the ground resigned Thursday.
In January, the Rolesville High School student said she had been trying to break up a fight between her sister and another girl when Officer Ruben De Los Santos threw her to the ground.
The officer, who had been assigned to the school since 2013, was put on administrative leave.
