NORTH CAROLINA — A North Carolina pilot is facing charges for being drunk after police arrested him in the cockpit.
Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport authorities called police and said 48-year-old Kolbjorn Kristiansen smelled like alcohol.
Police said they pulled him from the American Eagle cockpit just before 7:30 a.m. on Friday and he failed a breathalyzer.
Kristiansen lives in Raleigh.
No one answered when a crew from our TV partner knocked on the door, but his neighbors were shocked.
"He is always hanging out with his kids in the driveway playing ball with them. Football seemed to be very quiet," said Joe Taranto.
American Airlines said he has been pulled from service pending an FAA investigation.
